Orchard pruning

Take part in caring for a collection orchard. In spring the work is planting: renewing ageing trees, bringing in new varieties, learning how a tree is put in the ground and how an orchard is run. In autumn it is pruning and thinning, to let the light back in and prepare the next harvests, with the cut branches chipped on the spot to feed the soil. Picnic possible on site when the weather allows.
